FIRST DAY IN HELL

Let's take a quick trip to Hellfest, shall we?  The lines this year to get into the area were worse than ever. We waited for hours, I'm not sure if this was an ongoing issue or if we had just timed it really badly. After carrying your pack & beer in about 100 degrees heat, and for what feels like a marathon length the last thing you want to do is stand crammed in like a sardine for another hour. Just saying. Anyway, here's a (big) guitar! The Cashless system at Hellfest is a good idea but doesn't always work super well. This year you could order your pass online before the festival, but for some people it didn't even show up in the mailbox until afterward the festival. So the idea is that you put money on to your card then you pay at the bars with your card instead of carrying around cash (the bars only take cashless cards). The cards aren't personalized so if you loose it/have it stolen you also lose all the money you have on it. Not ideal. Also, the queues for filling it up there are endless. Our friend Sylvain had waited for THREE HOURS. We didn't have to wait quite as long fortunately, and then held on to our cards for dear life.  Once we had finally set up camp we realised that we were neighbours with a group of very annoying Germans. This one especially. Even though he was wearing fancy pants. I'm realizing that this post sounds really negative all the way through, that wasn't the idea at all! HELLFEST I LOVE YOU. There. Better. Simon & Carro caught their breath in the tiny bit of shade we could find. Keep in mind it was already around 36 degrees in the shade at this point. Phew.  And here I'll have to cut off for now, I have to go pick up a couple of kids at school! Say hi to Thibal looking chic in my sunnies! :)  Hopefully the temperature outside has dropped a tad. Laters lovers!
