THREE GREAT GIGS & A THURSDAY AT SWEDEN ROCK.

On Thursday we rolled out of the sauna-like tent just in time to see these guys: Buckcherry!  They're a great party-band, just listen to this for example :)  Josh Todd, the singer, was absolutely flying on his own little planet. "DO YOU HAVE ANY COCAINE IN SWEDEN???""I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I DID COCAINE, IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING!""WHO'S FUCKED UP TONIGHT?""WE'RE FROM LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNA" (x 100000)  "GOODNIGHT SWEDEN" (It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon)great fun gig ><  Then it was time for the band I was looking most forward to, having never seen them live and having been slightly obsessed with them the past few months: In this moment!!  Prepare for Maria Brink-picture bonanza :))))  I've already said this, but it was the highlight of the festival for me! So f-ing cool. Can't wait to see them at Hellfest on a MUCH bigger scale in just over a week :D  Back at camp Alex was semi-passed out under a tarp, festivaling is hard work ;))  We poured him a drink and he joined the land of the living!  I was very happy with this day so far.  Simons annual selfie! We've got some real gems from previous years, in this one he's managed to look almost sober at least, haha!  In the afternoon we were off to yet another campground and more of Simon & Alex's friends from home :) nice to be able to go visit people around the area every now and again.  Last year we showed up in their campervan when the rain was the heaviest, they poured us drinks, let us use their kitchen and gave us general warmth and comfort <3 this year we were able to sit outside in the sun! yay! This guy was the obligatory troubadour of the group :)  Fast forward a bit and we were back in line for the festival area. Biggest concert of the festival was coming up!!  I was excited (as I often am) and Simon looked a tad nervous :/ haha!  We managed to snake our way almost to the front for Iron Maiden!! Biggest band Sweden Rock has ever booked and the reason to their insane ticket sales this year, oh and the whole expansion of the festival. Big, big gig.  I call this one: today in concert. :))))  Fantastic show of course - and a show is really the apt word here! Costume changes, change of scenery, a different vibe & story for every song. It was a classics-tour, third time I've seen them (with very similar set-list) and next week will be the fourth, always a great time!!  Thanks Bruce, thanks Maiden, thanks Sweden Rock for this amazing Thursday in life! Now I need to get on to packing for the next festival, tomorrow Download Paris kicks off :D (hoping I'll still manage to get the rest of SRF up in the near future - watch this space - )
