My top favorite food places in New York!

When you go to New York you don’t have to worry about the food, because this city has everything. There is a jungle of restaurants and cafés everywhere, the problem is more how to decide where to go. Not all of them are great of course, for example I try to avoid the most touristic areas because I know it can be a bit over priced and the food a little disappointing.I promised you a list over some of my favorite restaurants and cafés, and as some of you know I eat 98% vegan (make a few exceptions sometimes). So this list has a lot of vegan/vegetarian options but I promise you they are really good! So even if you are a meat-eater I strongly encourage you to give it a try!Pause CafeWhere: 3 Clinton street, Lower East Side. What to eat: Breakfast, lunch.  This tiny, cosy moroccan style cafe has yummy things like juices, smoothies, salads, pastries and bagles.  Most of it home made. Try their amazing acaibowls, my favorite is the Green one with a sweet taste of lavender on top. Opposite pause cafe is Clinton Street Baking Company & Restaurant, which is famous for it’s delicious pancakes and more. Go there early or be prepared to wait for a long time during brunch hours on weekends.I prefer Pause Cafe though beacuse it’s so cosy and has more of a personal touch to it. WestvilleWhere: 5 locations, I like the one in Chelsea on 246 w 18th street because it’s also close to Chelsea market and the High Line. What to eat: Lunch, brunch, dinner. There is something for everyone at Westville. I like the market plates where you pick different sides to create your own dish and get it exactly how you want it. Red BambooWhere: 140 W 4th Street, West village. What to eat: This is a vegan restaurant with vegetarian options with the theme ”comfort food”. A must try is the Barbecue Buffalo Wings (don’t be scared if you think it tastes like real chicken, it’s all vegan!), continue with some of my favotires such as Cashew chicken, Sweet and Sour chicken or Mango chicken. Finish (make sure to save space for this) with the cheesecake of the day, my favorite is the chocolate brownie it’s amazing! This will keep you full for a very long time, the portions are quite big and filling. You have to try these Barbecue Buffalo Wings, really tasty! Peacefood cafeWhere: Downtown 41 east 11th street (union square) and uptown 460 amsterdam avenue. What to eat: Lunch, brunch, dinner, pastries. This vegan restaurant has everything from salads, soups, pizza and burgers. Also here you can customize your dish if you pick the sides you would like to have. Try the chickpea fries and the strawberry cheesecake! Me and my friend shared the raw lasagna and some steamed/roasted veggies on the side for a light lunch. Maoz vegetarianWhere: A few different locations. Union square, central park and upper west side has one but the one close to Times Square (558 7th avenue) has better options. What to eat: Lunch, dinner. Maoz has one of the best falafels in New York for a cheap price. This fastfood falafel chain offers you a sandwich, salad bowl, rice bowl or hummus bowl for less than 10 dollars! Then you load it with yummy roasted and fresh vegetables and top it with sauce. The perfect kind of picnic food. SouenWhere: East village and Soho (210 6th ave) which I think is a little cosier. What to eat: Go to Souen and have real traditional Japanese cuisine, delicious and healthy Macrobiotic food. All ingredients are natural and organic, they keep it simple and fresh here!My absolute favorite is the Macro plate and the pad thai. Their noodle soups are also really good! The Macro plate, I love the texture of the Japanese pumpkin together with rice and tahini sauce.
