Biking downtown and Union Market

Thursday 9/21After an amazing concert we woke up on Thursday with a lot of energy. It was time to go downtown to be proper tourists and look at some monuments. We started off at Capitol Hill, rented bikes and made our way to the Monument and then over to the White House. Although we couldn't get so close to the WH, but at least Paula got to see it from distance. It was insanely hot this day, so after biking around in the heat, we gave up for today and went to have lunch at Union Market.Driving there was a pain cause we got stuck in the lunch rush so it really took us forever. Ugh, I hate traffic... well, at Union Market, which is a food hall with a bunch of different restaurants under one roof, we both went for pasta and it was delicious. I may be the only one I know who doesn't like pasta, but this was actually really good. Afterwards we thought we deserved some ice-cream and coffee, so we brought it outside and had it under an umbrella to hide from the sun. It was such a nice time and I am really glad I got to show Paula this place. After watching Jack's first soccer practice we got home to home made burgers that just got off the grill, so we had dinner with my family and then went to bed early. Perfect day with my favorite girl.
