Recap

On Monday the 25th of September my childhood friend Erik came here to visit me. I picked him up at the airport and took him to the hotel he was going to stay at. It's no boys allowed in most au pair families, which I of course respect. Although I think that's a very American thing, 'cause I've never heard about a rule like that in Sweden. However, this week my host parents had a really hectic time at their jobs, so I worked later than usual and had some errands to run over my free hours during the day. I felt so sorry and so ashamed that it happened right when Erik came here to see me, but just as much responsibilities you have at a "normal" job, I have here. If not more. So taking care of the things I have to do here can't be put aside just cause I have a visitor. And thinking about it, I'm sure you get that. Although I brought him to Georgetown and D.C, Union Market and Arlington Cemetery. I have so much fun with Erik, and I am so happy we're still friends after knowing each other since kindergarten. After saying goodbye to Erik on Saturday I got the worst cold and I was sick for two weeks. I still have a stuffed nose and some pain in my throat, but it's getting better. I have also made my return to the gym which feels amazing. I got to a point when I felt so disgusting in my own skin that I had to do what always makes me feel better. Take a full body picture and then start from there, then it can only get better. I have so much motivation to get back and to feel like myself again, 'cause I was going nuts there for a while. Haha. Oh and the weather this fall has been giving us is out of this world. I never thought this season could be this beautiful! It's been 25-30 degrees everyday for weeks now, and I could not be happier about it! On Sunday this week I'm picking my dad up from the airport. I talk to him over FaceTime at least once a week, so it definitely does not feel like I last saw him almost 10 months ago..! But I'm so excited to get him here and to show him around. Ps. Omg I am almost forgetting to tell you that I became an auntie yesterday to a healthy baby girl! My brother and his girlfriend are now parents for the first time, and I could not be happier for them. I love them so much and I know for sure that they'll be the best folks ever. I can't wait to meet the little girl in November!!! Congratulations Erik and Arnela, you deserve this so much and I love you to death.
