cleaning tips

SET UP A CLEANING SCHEDULE Besides daily tasks, I also have a daily cleaning schedule I try to keep up on. Basically I have a different room in the house I focus on each day of the week, so I don’t end up with everything needing to be cleaned on the same day.You can download my Cleaning Schedule on my blog. But the basics of it is: Monday is the kitchen, Tuesday is the main living space, Wednesday is the bathrooms, Thursday is bedrooms, Friday is my swing day, where I switch off between washing sheets, wiping baseboards, or straightening cabinets. This leaves Saturdays open for me to tackle any fun projects like tiling a shower or building furniture.Sharjah Cleaning companyWhen I stay on a schedule, I notice that things don’t feel as overwhelming. I don’t feel like I have to do everything all in one day, and I don’t miss anything- like going 3 months without washing the sheets because I forgot (I would never do that! haha!).KEEP UP ON DAILY TASKS The hardest part of keeping a clean house is KEEPING it clean. Nothing is worse than getting behind on laundry or dishes, and then spending an entire day or two catching up, just to repeat the same thing next week.I have found that when I do some tasks every day, it doesn’t take much time, but it helps keep everything under control so I don’t have one full day of catch-up. Some of the tasks I do daily are: laundry, dishes, wiping the counters, and making beds. And I can usually have almost all of this done before my kids are out the door to school.I make my bed as soon as I get out of it, and I’m trying to teach my kids to do the same thing. Then I walk in and put a load of laundry in to wash. While my kids are eating breakfast, I unload the dishwasher (or I ask one of them to do it). Then all day long, we just put our dirty dishes into the dishwasher. I start it before I go to bed, and it’s ready to unload again in the morning. Then, by the time the kids are off to school, I have a load of wash ready to dry and fold. I try to do at least one load of laundry every day. I have 4 kids, so I could probably do 2 loads a day! The important thing is to keep up on it, so it doesn’t pile up and ruin your life! And trust me, too much laundry can ruin your life- haha!I love using Clorox Liquid Bleach to freshen and brighten my whites. Since it’s so concentrated, I only use a little bit in my laundry- so one bottle seems to last forever. And my whites come out so bright and smelling super fresh. I’ve actually switched most of our sheets and towels to plain white ones, so I can use this bleach on them. I love how clean my linens feel after being bleached!I also make it a point to try to keep things picked up around my home. I try not to go to bed with a lot of clutter. Sometimes all I can do is pick up the toys and put it in baskets for my kids to put away later, but when the daily tasks and clutter are under control, everything else seems like it isn’t such a big deal.
