MURDER IN MESOPOTAMIA

“When I saw him, I wanted to laugh! One might say that he had left a stage or a film. To begin with, he was no more than five feet tall in my opinion - a fat, weird, very old man with a huge mustache and an oval head. The hairdresser's prototype of the comic pieces! ” To start talking about this work, I have to say that it took me more than a month to read it, but it is not because it is bad, quite the opposite, it is perfect. This was my first contact with Agatha Christie, but, unfortunately, I started to read in a slightly troubled period, and I wanted to read calmly, absorbing every word of the author, so the delay.Agatha Christie won the title of Queen of Crime and it was not for nothing, she deserved it! With about eighty books published and translated into more than 100 languages worldwide, she is one of the most successful novelists in the history of world popular literature, in addition, her works have already been adapted for film and television. “Death in Mesopotamia” is narrated by Amy Letheran at the request of Dr. Reilly, although she herself believes she has no talent for writing and declares that she is only doing it because it was a request from the doctor, so it presents characteristics slightly different from the author's style , which was a sensational balcony! Amy Letheran is hired to look after the wife of the leader of an excavation group, the famous archaeologist Eric Leidner. Louise Leidner is a lady who has a breathtaking beauty and who keeps a secret from her past, a secret that has recently been tormenting her and starting to make her have panic attacks. Their paranoid behavior begins to affect the members of the excavation, causing a climate of tension between them, so the arrival of Amy Letheran would serve to calm things down. However, at a certain point in the plot, the murder of Louise Leidner takes place and a thorough investigation begins to unravel the perpetrator. Luckily, Belgian detective Hercule Poirot was passing through the region and was asked to clarify this mystery. Pretty convenient, isn't it? “In England, before the races, there is a parade of horses, isn't it? They pass in front of the official platform so that everyone has the opportunity to see and evaluate them. That was the purpose of my little assembly. To use a sporting phrase, I scanned possible competitors. ” As might be expected in a detective novel, all employees and members of the excavation team (including nurse Amy Letheran) are suspected of having committed the crime. The way the characters were presented is magnificent, has an impressive wealth of details, the reasons why each of them could have been the perpetrator of the crime are also shown, as well as the change in behavior of each one, which makes us stay constantly thinking about who actually committed the murder, I will not go too far on this point, the intention is that each reader draws their own conclusions and have fun on each page, right? In short, the work has an interesting scenario, well-constructed characters and a method of elucidating the crime, in addition to being ingenious, besides, an impartial character who was the narrator of the case was a great idea in my opinion. I really enjoyed reading this book and intend to read others by the author soon. The edition I read is that of Nova Fronteira, published in 2014, it has a hard cover, the pages are yellow and thin (but they are not transparent), the font has a comfortable size for prolonged reading (which has great chances of happening). Synopsis: Nurse Amy Leatheran is hired to join an archaeological expedition in Iraq. But her role there has very little to do with ruins and artifacts: she must keep a close watch on the beautiful Louise Leidner, who is increasingly frightened by the idea that perhaps her ex-husband is not as dead as she believed.Louise may be imagining things. But the fact is that, a week after the nurse's arrival, the woman is found dead in her own room, and now it's up to Hercule Poirot to identify the killer. Who was it? Everything indicates that the culprit is among the members of the team of scientists...🖤📚Note: ☆☆☆☆☆| Title: Murder In Mesopotamia | ISBN: 978-8520925416 | Year: 2014 | Specifics: 235 pages | Editor: Nova Fronteira (1 January 2014)| Genre: Fiction| Finishing: Hardcover | Measurements: 17.6 x 10.6 x 1.4 cm|Cutting: UnpaintedBuy on Amazon (Murder In Mesopotamia by Agatha Christie)Review on GoodReads (Murder In Mesopotamia by Agatha Christie) Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie DBE, born Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller; (Torquay, September 15, 1890 - Wallingford, January 12, 1976), popularly known as Agatha Christie, was a British writer who served as a novelist, short story writer, playwright and poet.
