LA for 24 hours

Remember I was in Los Angeles last Thursday before I went to Vegas? I thought I'd walk you through that day from AM to PM. Let's go!I took an uber from my house to the airport in San Jose by 4:30 AM, and at 7:50 AM I was arriving to my previous, and very temporarily, hometown. I finally got a hold of an uber (a way too expensive one though) after I got canceled on by three other drivers (who does that??) and made my way through the LA traffic. I ended up at Joan’s on Third (located on 3rd st between the Grove and Beverly Hills) - got myself a cappu and a while later I got joined by my darling, Amanda. We shared pancakes and yoghurt parfait, and I must say that both of them were so good that I’ll for sure give the place a second visit next time I’m in LA (it was also a very cute and Insta friendly cafe/deli, which is always a plus). The coffee was very good too btw, that's important.  After talking about everything from hot surfers to the future and to weather we hear Yanni and Laurel (obv Yanni?), we took off in Amanda’s car (thank god she has a car so we didn’t have to go around in uber..!) to Melrose Ave to check out some stores. We bumped into the just days old Glossier show room and got super excited (you know the kind of excitement when you just want to squeeze something. Get it?) to go inside. We tried every single product and took about a million pictures on the decor and on ourselves. Haha! But that’s fine in LA since everyone’s the same. No judging. Anyways, we both ended up getting the mascara and I also got the lipgloss. I also really want their face wash, but I only had carry on bag, so I’ll order it online instead. After a well spent hour at Glossier we went to Alfred’s Tea House for an ice coffee for me and an matcha lemonade for Amanda. Is matcha a thing in Sweden/Europe yet? We ended our date with driving past Urban Lights so I could check that off my LA to-do list (I’ll for sure go back there at night some day, cos it wasn’t that cute in the daylight..), had lunch at Sweetgreen and then said goodbye at the Grove. I had the best day and I’m so happy Amanda was free to hang out with me. I took my third uber for the day (you must love the distances in LA) down to Santa Monica where I got picked up by Amelia and her host kids. We got stuck in the worst traffic and about an hour later we arrived in Malibu, picked up food and then went to their house. PCH during rush hour is a big no no unless you’re going to Malibu, than that’s unfortunately the only way to get there. While at the house Amelia still had an hour left to work, so I took a long walk on the beach and realized that was the last time I’ll ever go on just that beach. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned earlier that Amelia lives in a gated community, meaning that you can’t get in to where she lives without crossing a gate and a guard. So I did my best trying to soak up the view of surfers surfing the freezing cold water (A for effort), the sunset, Malibu pier from this angle and all the amazing (and insanely expensive) houses along the beach. When my feat were so cold I could barely feel them, I went back to the house just in time for Amelia to be off work. Together we had dinner, packed the last things for Vegas and then Maja came over to drop some of her things off. The next day the alarm rang at 3:50 AM and it was time to go to LAX and Vegas.
