My first time surfing

13/4, Friday pt.1 I really can’t tell you how much I’ve been longing for this day to come. Today me and Allyson had scheduled each to take a surfing lesson. I have seriously been wanting to do this for as long as I can remember, so you bet the excitement was real when we woke up this morning. Jesse went to play golf together with a family friend at a spectacular golf course up in the mountains while me and Al took the kids to a beach about 40 minutes south o where we stayed. She went first and I was so impressed on how well she did, but that also made me so nervous cause I totally felt the pressure to be as good. The lesson was for 2 hours, so while Al surfed I played in the water with the kids, looking for colorful fishes. And just like that it was my turn. The instructor asked me on what attempt to stand up on the board, I believed I would get up on. I said on the 5th try and he just laughed.. He promised me I would do it on my first, and that scared the s*it out of me haha. After practicing the moves on the beach for about 2 minutes I was apparently ready to hit the water. Haha wait, what?? But just like he promised, I stood up on my first wave and I couldn’t believe it! I felt so happy and excited, and this was only the beginning of my 2h lesson. Woohoo! The best part about being out on the water (except catching the waves) was seeing dolphins jumping behind us and that time I was sitting on my board, waiting for a wave, and a ginormous turtle swam right next to me. Amazing how beautiful the nature can be. Anyways. The 2 hours out on the water felt more like 6, cause the waves weren’t great when it was my turn, so it was a lot of waiting (and I'm not gonna lie, it was freaking exhausting paddling back after catching a wave..). But I got to chat with a lot of cool and inspiring people that were also waiting for some waves to roll in, so it was all good. When my lesson were done I was crazy hungry and thirsty, shaky from the adrenaline and bright red on my booty and legs. The sun had literally been frying me, haha, even though I had waterproof spf 50 on me. But it was all worth it. I can't wait 'til I get to surf again.
